Dannys's Izakaya
WHO WE ARE

Our mission is to provide a warm, relaxing environment where friends can gather to experience Japanese culinary delights and cocktails.
We believe that our guests deserve quality, authenticity, and attentive customer service.
In traveling extensively to Japan for business, a passion for the Japanese culture was born, and we are pleased to present it within this Izakaya.
THE EXECUTIVE TEAM

EXECUTIVE CHEF
CHARLEY MOI
A native of Dallas, Texas, Chef Charley Moi developed a love for food at an early age, and began learning traditional Cantonese cuisine as a teenager in the family restaurant. He arrived in New York in 2013, working in a number of kitchens, honing and developing his skills, and advancing his specialization in BBQ and Asian cuisine.
Charley joined Neuman’s Kitchen in 2016, and worked closely with acclaimed restaurateurs Robb Garceau, and Fred Mero, as well as celebrity chefs, Jean Georges, and Floyd Cardoz. Chef de cuisine stints followed at Copinette and Pony Boy, before he was appointed Executive Chef at Queens Bully, the highly popular BBQ gastro pub in Queens, in 2018. Charley joined the team in 2021 as we prepared for our opening, and we are excited to bring his unique pairings to the menu at Danny's Izakaya!
Partner
RANDY KLEIN
A lawyer who began his career at the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office. From there Randy transitioned to the asset management industry, holding leadership positions at a number of blue-chip firms, before arriving at Institutional Investor, Inc. in 2014, and becoming its Chief Operating Officer responsible for the success of over 100 events annually on a global basis. Randy is also a long standing friend of David and Danny. One conversation led to another, and in early 2021, the brothers welcomed Randy as a partner to their growing hospitality business.
Partner
DAN ANTIN
After 8 years in business at KPMG, and Fast Retailing, Dan came to the decision that the corporate world was not for him. He remembered being most happy working in a Chinese restaurant back in high school and college. There he felt a true sense of work ownership, working closely on a day-to-day basis, with the business owners. Taking the skills he learned in his corporate career, and his passion for the restaurant business, he opened his first restaurant, Danny’s Chinese Kitchen, in January 2014. Danny’s Izakaya is Dan’s fifth restaurant.
Partner
DAVID ANTIN
David’s career began at Arthur Andersen in 1997, as a CPA. Over the next 20 years he held several finance and senior management positions, including CEO of financial publisher Institutional Investor, Inc. and CEO of Ned Davis Research, one of the world’s largest independent macroeconomic research businesses. David had also invested in his brother Dan’s first restaurant when it opened in 2014. Observing the success Dan was making of that restaurant, David was convinced the concept had significant potential and in 2019 he joined his brother full time to help accomplish this.
